Thursday, March 24th, 2022:Update:

Hello everyone, it’s a me lol. Hope you’re doing well. Hopefully this will mark somewhat of a return to posting content on this website and also the addition of some design changes if my finances and creativity allow. No promises in terms of a consistent upload schedule at the moment, but I’m happy to be back. Happy march!

Cheers,

Thursday, September 2nd, 2021:Update:

Hey everyone, hope you’re doing well, quick update here. Just wanted to say that based on a number of circumstances I will be posting to FourthEye on a less regular basis for probably a few months. Without going into too many nitty gritty details I really want to post content that feels super valuable for me to post on topics that really fascinate me, and sometimes I don’t have anything significant to share. This apparently is to the chagrin of search engines and so on, so it’s difficult to justify spending as much time as I would like on the this blog at the moment. In the event that I have something really important to share, I will post it here, but in the meantime I will be working on a number of other projects and activities that are higher return for me. I’m not looking to abandon the site by any means, and still seek to add more art, upgrades and unique elements to it, but it’s honestly too tall an order with the things I have going on at the moment. Hope that makes sense and I hope you all will be well.

All the best,

Tuesday, August 10th, 2021:Update:

Hello everyone, hope this update finds you doing well. Happy Tuesday lol. I just wanted to put my intention out into the ether by saying that I’m thinking of publishing a book directly on this site and selling it here. I have 2 books near completion, one I’m planning to publish via Amazon, I think, and a second that I’m considering simply publishing here on FourthEye. I suspect that I will link to both books here when the time comes, but I wanted to let you all know to look out for my second book (technically) in the coming months. I have a lot of typing to do but depending on how much time I dedicate to it, I could have it done in 2-3 months or so, maybe sooner. Without spoiling too much the book is on the topic of “learning how to learn.” It’s a topic very close to my heart and something I think about so much I thought writing a short book on the topic may prove more useful than doing a series of blog posts. I hope you all will look forward to that and eventually some of the aesthetic changes I mentioned awhile back.

Be well,

Orion A. Webster

Saturday, August 7th, 2021:Update:

Hey everyone, hope you’re doing well. I apologize for the lack of content on FourthEye recently. Just want to keep you guys updated and let you know that I have not abandoned this blog but I’ve stepped away from it for a bit because I’ve been working on the anime and art blog. At first I thought it would be more of something I could do alongside FourthEye but I’m realizing inbetween my part-time job, books, art journey and my living environment, doing everything at the same time is fairly impractical. While I’m happy to work on several things a day and leave a few hours for relaxation most days of the week, at present my obligations and living circumstances don’t allow me to approach everything the way that best suits me. I will be moving relatively soon, so that should at least partially address the problem. I also will hopefully get a part-time writing gig or some remote work so that I can focus more on my various endeavors and not on getting to and fro a place of work. My circumstances are also why I’ve been talking more about support from the audience as 5 or 10 bucks here or there, seriously help me create more, and better quality content. Hopefully soon I’ll have a bit more an answer to the profitability problem in a way that I’m comfortable with, but until then this site may see less frequent uploads. I enjoy creating the content here, but a lot goes into each article even with their short length, and for the resources invested I could have 10x the return while doing this current anime and art blog. I will do both again once I get to a new home however, so do look forward to that in the near future.

Be well,

Orion A. Webster

Friday, July 30th, 2021: Update:

Hey everyone, hope you’re well. Since the last update I’ve taken a different, more ambitious approach I guess you could say with the anime and art content. I may still post my own art on this blog from time to time, haven’t fully decided, but I’m also running a dedicated art and anime blog, and working with a couple of super skilled artists to make it happen. The site is still a work in progress so I’ll let you all know when the official site is ready to go, but for those interested look forward to that. I will still attempt to post to this blog an average of once per week, whether that takes the form of an essay, regular blog post, art content, or what have you. Eventually, as I mentioned a number of months ago, I absolutely want to make the site more unique and personalized to my self and the kind of content I enjoy making, and just generally make the site have a better look and more refined format. In order to make that happen I’ll need to probably upgrade to the business tier, so that I can actually mess with how this thing works. I’ll try to do that soon enough when I believe it makes sense, but given my current working conditions and finances I’ll probably opt to wait a few months, because I’m moving. That’s pretty much it for what’s been happening, thanks for your support.

Be well,

Orion Aeneas Webster

Wednesday, July 21st, 2021: Update:

Hello everybody hope this update finds you doing well. Apologies for the lack of content over the past few weeks, I was out of a computer for a bit so I took an unwanted break from publishing things, but I’m back. Wanted to let you guys know that I’m planning to start doing content on anime/manga/webtoons and other interests of mine in conjunction with continuing to post my art so hopefully those interested will look forward to that. At some point I’ll maybe set things up so that my audience can more easily get to the content that they find most useful and interesting but for now I hope you guys enjoy what’s coming.

have a good one,

Wednesday, May 19th, 2021

Hey guys, I hope this update finds you doing well and if not I hope things start looking up. I would like to start off this update with an apology. I feel that I have been very busy and very distracted as of late and I wanted to speak to that a little bit here. A lot has been going on in my life but mostly in my head and after attempting to get back on the rails I’ve realized that my attempt to bring FourthEye to a new level and needing money to accomplish that is something that I’ve let myself get lost in. I really want to keep bringing the quality of content that I was seeing from myself in February and that I think I’m starting to come back to now with my most recent article. Instead of focusing on hustling and posting more and more, or posting more variety content I really want to slow things down and focus on quality. This whole enterprise is a one-man show, which I would love to change if anybody wants to work with me, and I’m burning myself the fluff out trying to tackle all of my interests. In other words expect more consistent, high-quality content as I look to cut fat and eliminate noise in my head and focus back on the signal.

As for what this means in practice, I’ll probably only shoot for two blog posts per month and let any art that I draw or any additional content come naturally when I feel I have something important to share. While I may upload more, I want to focus on doing less so I can bring more value, and let any bite-sized content or extra stuff come when it feels right. As I said sometime ago I highly dislike the idea of manufacturing content, and truly not only do I not enjoy it, but I feel that others don’t need yet another popcorn variety blog. The niche I’m looking to work in is one of depth and nuance, and extracting maximum value and I have to accept more than anyone else, that to do that properly takes a lot of time, energy and life real estate to accomplish. I hope that all makes sense and I hope you will look forward to seeing higher quality content from me moving forward, not just what I set out to make, but beyond my own expectations. Thank you for your support.

Take it easy,

Orion Aeneas Webster

Tuesday, April 27th, 2021:Update:

Howdy everybody, hope you are doing quite well. Really been enjoying the hell out of art lately and plan on doing a lot more of it, so that will be making up a big chunk of the content for a while. Hope that’s not a problem for the art lovers out there. Probably start work on a webtoon I’ve been drafting some concepts for soon as well. Something else to hopefully look forward to. Cheers!

Thursday, April 22nd, 2021:Update:

Sup y’all hope you’re doing well. Finally got something published for the art partition of FourthEye over on the “Arte” tab. Currently just a bit of background and a picture of a traditional freehand(on paper not digital) that I drew as well as the story on that for the moment. Already have a number of other drawings that I’ve taken pictures of to get posted on here in the coming days so look forward to that for those interested. I will be doing a lot more digital art soon and get that stuff up once I get a frickin’ drawing tablet, so the images I’m uploading for the next few engagements will just be to wet the appetite. Hope you enjoy and see ya ’round. Cheers!

Saturday, April 17th, 2021:Update:

Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. I’d like to apologize once more for the lack of content. Had a lot going on the past few weeks between celebrations and sickness, and general burnout with writing based blog posts. Work has not ceased mind you, I’ve merely been struggling to get stuff published for the last while, so I hope you’ll bear with me while I try to fix that. I have been working a decent amount on my second book, and also on improving my art fortunately. My upcoming plan is to begin publishing art content to the site, and perhaps begin doing art commission work once I become more established in that domain. I may also start working on another extended essay or two, so hopefully some good stuff to look forward to coming up. Be well.

Thursday, April 1st, 2021:Update:

Hello everyone, hope you’re doing well. I’d like to apologize for the lack of content these past few weeks. Been fairly busy taking care of some time sensitive stuff, but I should have a lull in busyness for awhile. Hopefully get some pieces out this week and continue to work on my many other projects too, so look forward to it. Cheers!

Tuesday, March 9th, 2021:Update:

How’s it hanging guys? Hope you’re doing well. Quick update. The new post out today is probably the last for a little bit of posts with the theme of relying less on others to figure out our status or self-worth. A topic fairly important to me because I think it’s a very common pain point for many people, and has been something that I’ve struggled with a fair amount in the past. Hopefully it does not disappoint. Cheers!

Thursday, February 25th, 2021:Update:

Hey guys, hope you are doing incredibly well, some big and awesome news here. The site has officially achieved lift-off which means that not only do we have a real grown up url for the site (hurray!) I also have a lot of changes design and content wise coming down the pipeline over the course of the next weeks and months. To dig into the details a little bit, I will be working on customizing the aesthetic of the site to something that is more personal and exciting, and begin posting art pieces that I’ve worked on and find inspiring or cool, and eventually uploading podcasts or music or whatever else I get into in my misadventures. The support function for the site has also been implemented, through an on-site means, no longer just Patreon, which is huge since we might actually be able to make this financially sustainable at some point. Long story short, having the site level up to premium opens up a lot of access to exciting new experiments that I am super looking forward too. I hope that some of you stick around and join me for what I hope is an amazing and probably kinda weird ride moving ahead. As always be well and cheers, because a new chapter awaits.

Friday, February 12th, 2021:Update:

Hello everyone, hope you’re doing well. A new puppy is keeping me fairly tied up at the moment, but I’ll push through and continue to work as I can. My first book due to copyright shenanigans will not be coming out for at least a few months so don’t expect anything on that for a while. I am working on another book on learning how to learn more or less, although the details are more interesting than that. I intend to hold myself to 4-6 blog posts per month at the moment, but I don’t know what life holds around the corner so we’ll play it by ear. Take care and cheers!

//

Tuesday, February 9th, 2021:Update:

Hey guys hope life is treating you well, bit of an important update concerning the schedule of FourthEye moving forward. My plan now that  my first book is effectively done, at least the writing part, is to upload a post of some kind 4-6 times per month rather than have these huge swathes of time in-between posts seemingly at random. I realize that the inconsistency of posts, especially at this early stage of my site isn’t doing me any favors in readership growth, nor in anyone’s ability to rely on my production, so I’m looking to change things a bit. Hopefully this is a positive change and I’ll keep everyone updated if I change my mind again or decide to pivot with this idea, but look forward to more content more often. Be well.

Friday, February 5th, 2021:Update:

Hey everyone hope you’re well. New blog post coming in the next few days if all goes well. The subject matter is on finding opportunity and clarity and we face this new year, which seems fairly timely at present. Stay tuned for that and cheers!

//

Thursday, February 4th, 2021:Update:

Hello everyone hope this update finds you doing well and if not I understand and that’s okay too. New blog post on something that I think is fairly timely in the current moment so check that out if you’re interested. My book, due to some recent developments seems to be in order to get published as an e-book in the coming days or weeks, depending on how things go. Thanks for your support and stay safe. Cheers!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2021: Update:

Hello guys, gals and everyone else, hope this finds you doing well. Super quick update, a new post has been uploaded to the blog on something that I’ve been thinking about and wanting to get out for a while, so I hope you enjoy. Cheers!

//

Tuesday, January 19th, 2021: Update:

Hello everyone, hope you’re doing well. Just a fairly quick update here. Just released a new essay today, so check that out if your interested and that can be found over on the “Essays” tab, as per usual. I’ll try to do more of these because I find them rather enjoyable. Lemme know if the pdf format works or if you would prefer various kinds of formats or something else entirely, I do respect and appreciate constructive feedback. Thanks for your support and be well.

Monday, January 18th, 2021: Update

Hello everyone, hope this update finds you doing well, and if not I hope things improve quickly for you. Couple things to cover in this update, but I’ll still keep it fairly brief. Firstly a huge apology for my sort of inexplicable absence, I have been working on a book and a couple of other projects and have been too depleted to work much on the blog. So apologies for the that. The book which is called “Shifting Lenses: Sense-making In The 21st Century” will be published soon as an ebook to be available on amazon, so do look forward to that. I will try to post to the blog more regularly again this year, now that my first book is finished and I have more resources to allocate and feel more confident as a writer. Also look forward to more frequent news updates, as even if I don’t post an article I will try to stay in touch and be more open about my activities. So no the blog is not going anywhere unless I lose my hands or kick the bucket, this is a long term project and as such I’m not in any particular hurry to get content out. I want to provide content that is high quality, useful and entertaining, which means that I gotta do what’s right for me. Hope that makes sense. Take care.

//

Monday, September 21, 2020: Update:

Wanted to also add that since FourthEye is intended to be a multi-faceted site not skewed towards one particular theme of content, I will likely start delving into my other passions, that are a bit more lighthearted and involving less eyebrow tension, such as art, music and video games among other things. Hopefully something to look forward to.

//

Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. Once more I’d like to apologize for the huge delays in content, but I’ve finally actually posted another piece to the site. Hopefully you find it to be a good read, despite it being fairly short. Thanks for your continued support.

//

Thursday, September 17th, 2020: Update:

Additionally, I’ve decided that the essay that I’ve been working on for a while now, may be better suited to a podcast because it’s so complicated and nuanced in a particular way. I’ll see what I can do about getting such a podcast out and thank you for your patience.

//

Hello everyone, hope you’re doing well, quick update here. As you can probably tell I’m going to be coming back from my hiatus and have taken the time to launch a patreon page. I mentioned in the “project fourtheye” page that I would prefer not to have a subscription model, and this is still true, but I’ve realized that for the purpose of getting things off the ground I want to open up a support channel for those interested. As always everything will continue to be free for everyone, and ad-free/ sponsor free and so on, but this is a small, hopefully temporary change. Eventually I want the donations to be dealt with via this site, for a number of reasons I may discuss at a later time. Be well and thanks for your support.

//

Tuesday, August 18th, 2020: Update:

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well, quick update here. I just wanted to follow up on the last news post and offer a bit of insight into why I haven’t posted for a while as well as my plans for the future with this site. For starters, suffice it to say that I’ve been feeling a bit uninspired on the front of posting  because I feel I am struggling to write at a level that I can be proud of and that can be of maximum utility to those who should read it. Due to this, I want to take a bit of a hiatus from posting to find myself, and improve in many different areas of interest such that I can have more places to draw from when writing. That said I may or may not still post to this site every once in a while as I still have some pieces in the works, but don’t expect too much if you would. Secondly, I have every intention of turning this project FourthEye into something more, and will absolutely come back to it, hopefully not after a year long hiatus this time, so please do look forward to seeing better content down the road at some point. Be well.

//

Monday, July 27th, 2020: Update:

Hello everyone, hope you’re doing well. I’d like to apologize for the lack of content recently. I’m in fact still alive but I’m in the process of writing a book and working on a few other projects. I am working on another extended essay for the blog, but it’s a bit intense and I’m struggling to make it as good as I can muster at the moment. Thanks for your patience and look forward to that essay in the coming days. Be well.

//

Wednesday, July 8th, 2020: Update:

Hello everyone, hope life is treating you well. Just wanted to say I’ve recently uploaded an about-esque page on what exactly FourthEye is, which you can find in the header menu option “Project Fourtheye”. I encourage anyone interested in where this is all gong to check it out. I also added a new type of content, essays rather than just blog posts, which will typically be much longer explorations of a topic or set of topics, so look forward to seeing more of those. Gonna try to keep content rolling with some amount of regularity so check in every once in awhile for new stuff. Hope everyone for whom it’s relevant had a great 4th of july. Stay dangerous.

//

Thursday, January 30th, 2020: Update:

Hello everyone. Hope this update finds you doing well. First an foremost, I apologize for the severe lack of posting in general, and also for lack of update as to why this has been the case this past year. Basically it’s not that I stopped writing, but that I gave blogging a bit of a break and moved on to writing a full blown book instead. I’ve also had a bit of a change of heart in terms of what I’d like FourthEye to be in the future, versus what it has been so far. I’m not sure I’ve mentioned this anywhere, but my plan for this site has always been to invest more money into it, nicen it up, and add podcasts, alongside the blog posts. I haven’t deviated too much from this original plan, but the main change is that I would like to commit to longer essays, short books on whatever topic I feel compelled to write about and, podcasts, be they interviews, or “solocasts” as I like to call them. I hope this sheds a bit of light on what has been going on, what I’ve been doing and all the rest. Before I forget, I do have a number of posts that I’ve written stacked up, I just haven’t taken the time to edit, type and post them, since this is a one man show, and I have other things going on. Thanks for your support and be well.

//

Tuesday, January 15th, 2019: Update:

Hello guys. Just thought I would mention if you are wondering why the font is different in the new blog post the reason is because I typed the piece in openoffice first and then copy pasted it, and I didn’t feel like changing the font. Let me know if this is annoying or if the change is nice. Hope everyone had a good new year by the way and sorry about the lack of content. My plan is to write a lot more, and I’m actually delivering because I have two other pieces ready to be typed and edited that are in the works already.

//

Wednesday, December 26th, 2018: Update:

Howdy everyone. I know it’s been quite awhile since I last posted on either the blog or the YouTube channel. First and foremost I’d like to apologize for that. I’ve not been terribly busy nor have I fallen off the world, I’ve honestly just been struggling with what to say/do/work on because I want what I do to really be as high quality as possible. I thank you for bearing with me while I try to get my act together and sort of get used to uploading more regularly. No promises, but hopefully at some point you can expect to see a post at least once per week maybe more or less depending on what’s going on. Thanks and happy holidays.

//

Thursday, September 13th, 2018: Update:

Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. I apologize for not uploading as often as I planned. The past couple weeks have been a little hectic since school started up for me again, so balancing my schedule and staying on the rails was a little tough, and I admit, I didn’t do it that well. Hopefully though things will be a little more stabilized going forward. I’ve already uploaded a podcast today as I’m writing this, and plan to upload another later today, once it’s done processing. I think I’ll try to get a blog post up today or tomorrow as well, so look forward to that. As always thanks for reading and listening to FourthEye and I will, of course, be reading emails and comments and whatnot so don’t hesitate to send me your feedback. Be well.

//

Tuesday, September 4th, 2018: Update:

Hello everyone, this is the brand new FourthEye news page where I will share things like updates, posting schedule, upcoming plans or changes for the site, and other stuff that doesn’t belong in a blog post.

I will continue working on the lifestyle design series but I want to break it up a little bit that way I don’t write about the same thing all the time, as I will likely post things on lifestyle design frequently enough, and I don’t want to do it all at once, so you can still expect part 2 soon enough, but not right away.

For anyone curious about the posting schedule for FourthEye my plan at the moment is to have blog posts go up Tuesday and Friday, and podcasts, which I post on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS8medr0uVhP3C25Vq0iM1g, which generally will go up Monday and Thursday. This way you get 2 pieces of content per medium each week, giving you 4 total things FourthEye to keep you guys occupied.

Also the distinction between the podcast and the blog besides the medium, is that one is a more unfiltered stream of consciousness, and one I get to revise and edit seven times before posting, which creates a very different sort of product, so I intend to use the blog for things best laid out in writing, like complex ideas or concepts or quote heavy stuff that I want to get right, and save the podcast for things that are best captured as spur of the moment, passion filled utterances. Hopefully the difference will be noticeable and have enough variance that you can enjoy both without burnout.
