Plain Sight

Apparently over 90% of Americans are estimated to be deficient in potassium. Why hasn’t anyone done anything about it?

The cultural narrative is that salt is bad and that most modern people should eat way less. The counter-cultural idea is that salt is great and you should eat a lot. Which is actually true? A much better question is why isn’t anyone talking about potassium.

The reality is probably that sodium is essential and also that most of us get more than we need from all the wrong sources. Hypertension appears to be caused by an imbalance of electrolytes and a multitude of problematic factors, not just excess salt.

You don’t have to predict the future or be caught up on all the new trends, you just have to read the small print.
